TY Graphics LLC
TY Graphics LLC brings together technical illustration, high-end retouching, prepress discipline, and custom tire generation systems to produce controlled, production-ready visuals when physical product, photography, or conventional illustration workflows fall short.
Position
The work did not begin as a branding exercise or a portfolio style. It was shaped by real assignments with hard constraints: products not yet manufactured, deadlines that could not move, production requirements that could not fail, and imagery that had to carry both technical accuracy and visual authority.
That background spans technical illustration, commercial retouching, and prepress production. Together, those disciplines established the standard that governs the work today: clarity of form, control of tone, consistency across views, and output that survives real-world production handling.
“When there is no product to photograph, the work still has to exist — clearly, convincingly, and ready for use.”
TY Graphics LLC exists for that kind of assignment: work that requires construction, not capture; deliberate visual judgment, not generic rendering; and files prepared to function in production, not merely look good on screen.
What Defines The Work
The advantage is not a single tool or isolated skill. It is the combination of technical, visual, and production knowledge applied to a very specific class of problem.
Blueprint-driven construction for products that are too complex, too early, or too constrained for conventional photography workflows.
A background in high-end commercial retouching informs every rendering: color is designed, hierarchy is deliberate, and the image is shaped for clarity.
Prepress experience changes how files are built. The work is prepared with an understanding of correction, output behavior, and downstream handling.
Custom tire generation systems make possible a consistent family of views, press-ready vector output, and a level of repeatability that manual workflows struggle to maintain.
Selected Milestones
The career history is long. What matters here are the milestones that explain why this work is different, and why the process behind it was shaped the way it was.
1981 — 1983
The Toro Company — Technical Illustration
Engineering drawings, parts breakouts, cutaways, and catalog production established an early foundation in blueprint reading, visual discipline, and industrial accuracy.
Los Angeles Commercial Market
Retouching, Renderings, And Visual Control
Commercial airbrush, full-color rendering, and high-end photo retouching developed the habit of shaping imagery to the intended result rather than accepting what capture alone provides.
1994
Tire Generation Work Proven In Production
Tire illustration moved from prototype capability into commercial use under real agency deadlines, where physical product did not yet exist and the imagery still had to be campaign-ready.
Prepress & Publication Work
Files Built To Survive Real-World Output
Work in high-end lithography, advertising, and newspaper production reinforced something many image makers never learn: a file is not finished when it looks right, but when it remains stable through correction, output, and press handling.
Current Practice
TY Graphics LLC
Today the practice centers on technical illustration, tire rendering systems, design-production work, and controlled visual output for assignments where precision, consistency, and presentation all matter at once.
Third-Party Validation
A letter of reference written after leaving Toro still captures the essential point: the work was already being recognized for both technical contribution and visual quality. It belongs here not as nostalgia, but as early independent confirmation of the standard that continues to define the practice.
“His skill level increased dramatically during his employment at Toro.”
“Top-ranked commercial artist specializing in the fine art of airbrush rendering and photo retouching.”
“His business will continue to flourish and grow.”
